Please be aware that this privacy and disclaimer notice applies to The MulgaNet website only and not to any other sites that are linked to it or mentioned on the site.

Users should be aware that the World Wide Web is an insecure public network that gives rise to a potential risk that a users transactions are being viewed, intercepted or modified by third parties or that data which the user downloads may contain computer viruses or other defects.

Quality and Accuracy of Site Content:

The MulgaNet team makes every effort to ensure the quality of the content of this site. Because much of the resources and posts to the Events Calendar, Research Directory, Employment Directory and Resource Library on the MulgaNet site are contributed by third parties and not developed by the MulgaNet team we can not guarantee the content of these materials. We provide these information materials as a convenience to you only. Users are advised to obtain any appropriate authentication from the project or event organiser, registered researcher, copyright owner or postee.

The listing of a person, organisation or link to another website on the MulgaNet site does not imply endorsement of the information, services or products that person or organisation provides by the MulgaNet team or the ANU Centre for Mental Health Research or the NSW Centre for Rural and Remote Mental Health.

As the forums and noticeboards of this website work in real-time it is impossible for the MulgaNet team to review messages or confirm the validity of information posted. We do not actively monitor the contents of posted messages and are not responsible for any messages posted. We cannot vouch for the accuracy of any message. The posted messages express the views of the author of the message and not necessarily the views of MulgaNet team or the ANU Centre For Mental Health Research or the NSW Centre for Rural and Remote Mental Health or any entity associated with MulgaNet. We encourage any user who feels a posted message is objectionable or a resource inaccurate or inappropriate to contact us immediately by email. If we determine removal of the reported message is necessary we will make every effort to do so within a reasonable time frame. Our Use of Cookies

The MulgaNet site uses transient or session cookies. Cookies are pieces of information that a website transfers to your computers hard disk when you open the MulgaNet web pages. By themselves, cookies do not identify you or any user however they do identify your browser. Because MulgaNet uses transient cookies, your computer does not retain the information delivered in the cookie once you leave the MulgaNet web site. When you close your browser the transient cookie set up by the MulgaNet site is destroyed, and no personal information is retained which could identify you or your browser next time you log on to MulgaNet. Most web browsers are set up to accept cookies and while you can set your browser to not accept cookies you will not be able to use MulgaNet if you do this.

Your use of this web site constitutes your agreement to the provisions of this notice.

We subscribe to the Principles of the Privacy Act 1988 (The Act is available from SCALEplus: http://scaleplus.law.gov.au/). The MulgaNet team recognises that your privacy is important to you and that we are under a legal obligation to protect the integrity of your personal information.

When you register to join MulgaNet, we ask you for details such as your name, address, and organisation. You can indicate which, if any, of this information you are willing to let other members view in the password protected Members Directory. All other information you supply when registering will be used only for the purposes of running MulgaNet and will not be divulged to third parties without your consent or unless required by law.

We will not give any of your personal information or browser details to any advertisers or use it to send you unsolicited information or spam.

We will endeavour to take all reasonable steps to keep your personal information secure. Your information is held on a secure server that is in controlled facilities at the ANU Centre for Mental Health Research. All staff on the MulgaNet team, as well as ANU employees and contractors that provide services related to our information systems are obliged by law to respect the confidentiality of any personal information and/or research information held by the Centre for Mental Health Research.

Some of the information you provide at registration (your organisation, research interests, state of origin and broad stakeholder role) may be used in a synopsis of the network, but any such synopsis, whether published on the network website or elsewhere, will not identify your name without your express consent.

On receiving your registration form we will send you a password that will allow you to access the Members Only portions of the MulgaNet site. When you first log on as a member you will be given the opportunity to change your password. You can play an important role in keeping you personal information secure by keeping your password secure, and by not disclosing your password to anyone or allowing non-members to view or access the Members only pages via your password.

Once you are a member of MulgaNet you may choose to post identifying information on the MulgaNet website that will be accessible to the public (in the public sections of the site) or to other MulgaNet members (eg, on the Members Directory or MulgaBoard). Please be aware that whilst the Members Directory and MulgaBoard can only be read by MulgaNet members this still constitutes a wide audience. Posts on the Events Calendar, Employment Directory, Research Directory and Resource Library will be publicly available. So do not include information in any post that you do not wish to be read by a wide audience.
